What is Chiropractic?

Developed in the United States of America (USA) more than a century ago, Chiropractic is the branch of health science concerned with problems of the spine and how these affect general health.

Chiropractors look after the spine and joints in the same way that dentists take care of the teeth.

Chiropractic is now the third most important and popular health profession worldwide and chiropractic treatment is covered by most American medical insurance companies.

Chiropractors are required to do a seven-year university degree in some countries, such as the USA and France, which means that Chiropractors have comparable scientific knowledge to those working in the field of traditional medicine.

Chiropractic should not be confused with massage, which does not require advanced degree-level training. In Spain, the title "Quiropráxia" or "Quiroprático" is very often used by massage therapists who have just completed weekend workshops as training.
